ActivMan takes all the good features of Microsoft's Active Directory Users MMC snapin, and adds some extremely useful features, i.e. mass manipulation, templates, importing of users, and extracting using directly from your MIS (SIMS.NET - schools only), whilst also improving the efficiency of managing users.
Main Features
SPEED - create users fast by using templates for each type of job. You only have to enter their name and hit go!
RELIABILITY - when using templates to create new users they are all created using the same template so drastically reduces the possibility of human error.
SCALABLE - manage multiple servers.
MASS MANIPULATION - update multiple accounts in one go. Specify what attribute you would like to change and hit go!
TEMPLATES - create a template for each type of user, i.e. receptionist. Specify all atributes for this user type, i.e. username format, home directory location, member groups, etc.
IMPORT USERS - import users from either CSV or an ActivMan client. CSV importing is now fully customisable. Use ActivMan client/server for remote networks to synchronise your Active Directory to their MIS.
AUTO IMPORT (schools only) - never worry about new users coming and old users leaving. AutoImport will automatically create any new users and disable/delete/move any old users.
MIS (SIMS.NET - schools only) - extract students and staff DIRECTLY from your MIS. No need for 3rd party utilities or complicated batch files or exporting users to CSV. Extract them directly from your MIS into your Active Directory.
