Mnemo Explorer allows you to access files quickly using your mnemonic skills.

„Ordnung ist das halbe Leben“ is a common German saying suggesting that if you commit yourself to orderliness, you have handled half of your life.
Thinking about it leads to the question how order really helps us. This in turn raises the question how we actually order, place and find things.

A good example is the front door key, which notoriously goes missing. Now, if you think about where you usually put the front door key you would come up with perhaps three different spots in your apartment where you would expect to find it, because you usually put the key there. On the other hands there are places in the apartment where it is highly unlikely that you would find the key there. The idea behind Mnemo Explorer is a pattern, where anyone places any kind of objects and the associative function of the brain helps us finding the desired objects by simply applying the search pattern for each individual object.

The idea behind Mnemo Explorer is to carry this ability to our computer desktop and see, if it helps us finding files more quickly than by using the standard file system browsing tools. So in essence, the idea behind Mnemo Explorer is that you can establish a pattern where you put certain types of files and when you access them, you intuitively look for them in a limited number of locations.

In order to establish simple patterns that associate an object (a file in our case) with a location, Mnemo Explorer provides you with a picture image into which files can be placed by dragging and dropping them onto the image.

Before using the Mnemo Explorer, the user needs to define the meaning of a particular area on the image that helps him to establish an association with a certain document. By dragging a file onto this area, he associates the document/file with the metaphorical meaning of this area.
