ShutDownKing is shutdown manager designed to quickly and safely shutdown your computer in a variety of ways. The program runs as a convenient icon in the System Tray area of the Windows taskbar. It has a timer that allows you to choose from a variety of shutdown 'actions' and modes. Actions are available that shutdown or power off your system, reboot Windows, reboot into MS-DOS, launch a program, or activate a visual or audible alarm. ShutDownKing can perform your selected action at a time you specify, after a timed countdown, or when processor usage falls below a certain percentage for a given number of seconds (i.e., your computer has been idle for some time, indicating you are not using it and any large batch jobs have finished). Additionally, you can customize the functionality of left and right clicks on ShutDownKing's System Tray icon so that they will either pull up menus or automatically perform one of the above mentioned actions (with or without user confirmation). ShutDownKing enables you to quickly customize its System Tray icon, timer icons, and main menu background ('wallpaper') with prepackaged theme images called 'furs,' available at the developer's Web site. The program also provides a number of other features, including the ability to automatically log you onto Windows (if you provide a user name and password), and to change the Windows Startup, Waiting, and Shutdown logos.
