The goal would be to have less dependence on oil by creating an efficient system that ultimately doesn't hurt the environment.Although new energy efficient technologies are a great idea, little is known as to how effective they really are especially in relation to the trucking industry. The FTP and UDDS cycles are effective measurements but don't reflect real-world driving situations.The D.O.E. would be very helpful if they knew more information about the trucking industry. New hours-of-operation rules, anti-idling, and reoccurring congestion are just a few of the things truckers need to account for. If this type of information could be delivered to bodies such as the D.O.E. and the trucking industry, we can analyze it from there, and create a better, more efficient system that works.Other agencies would be able to support safety enhancements, look into ways to reduce emissions and analyze operations protocols....
